According to the World Health Organization (WHO), an estimated 12.6 million people die from environmental health risks annually. Air pollution has become the fourth highest risk factor for premature deaths – one in 10 deaths worldwide is attributable to air pollution exposure. 9 out of 10 people breathe contaminated outdoor air that exceeds the acceptable levels set by the World Health Organization guidelines. This presentation will address:

- Regional strategy for air pollution
- Monitoring air quality in the UAE to combat respiratory diseases
